Proteomics is a rapidly growing field of molecular biology that is concerned with the systematic, high-throughput approach to protein expression analysis of a cell or an organism. One of the most successful techniques of proteomics is the ELISA method, which is a process of analytical biochemistry for protein detection. In recent years, there has been an increased effort to replace the human element in the execution of protein detection experiments. This has resulted in a rapid increase in design and fabrication, of devices performing protein detection protocols. The purpose of this study is the automation of a platform conducting such protein detection protocols, which was constructed for the laboratory needs. Initially, the mechatronic parts of the platform were activated, using the capabilities of LabVIEW software. Then, using LabVIEW software, the parameters of each part of the device were set, in order to perform specific steps of an ELISA experiment. Finally, ELISA experiments in a simplified form were conducted in order to evaluate the performance of the device.
